Software to aid natural disaster forecast is being developed – The Beta version is now available for testing and evaluation. The following three indices are generated and used as indicators for early warning signals.
Planetary Alignment Index
This index indicates the number of alignments among planets at a given time. How slowly or quickly the index changes can be very useful in generating early warning signals for natural disasters. Any sharp increase or decrease represents significant changes worth observing either here on the Earth or at the Sun.
Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) is known to cause power outages/communication disruptions, impact short-term climate changes and tectonic activities. This index is designed to provide the estimated time and magnitude of the wave (i.e., plasma, electromagnetic, gravitational) arrival along the Earth’s orbital path.
We use global storm wind as an index representing the energy stored in the atmosphere at a given time. It is used to track for any surge in energy which would have a direct link to climate change. In addition, many will links between storm formation and uptick in earthquakes.
TRACK EARTHQUAKES AND STORMS IN ONE PLACE
We create earthquake and storm indices to track their global patterns over time. In addition, we collect locations of earthquakes and storms and display them on the world map to track their propagation patterns.
Storms are tracked globally. The maximum wind speed and storm counts are recorded daily to determined the surge in storm energy. The 14-day historical storm data are superimposed on a world map to study their development over time.
